King Island, just 25 miles from Cincinnati, is a popular summertime destination for thrill-seekers and those who are content riding the merry-go-round. 2009 hours and prices

• Kings Island opens weekends through May 17. The park opens daily from May 22 to Aug. 30. Then from Sept. 4 to Nov. 1 the park is open only on weekends.

• The best deals for admission can be found at www.visitkingsisland.com. Daily admission is $47.99 for adults and $31.99 for children and seniors. Discount tickets and two-for-one tickets are also available.

• Season passes range from $69.99 to $160, which include unlimited admission to Kings Island and Boomerang Bay water park.
